Portraits piece for @thehorsfall_42ndstreet last summer 🌸🌞🌸🌞
A quick poem about the things I’m excited for post-lockdown life 🍒🌸
I’d been thinking about writing this post since I logged back into my insta account but couldn’t quite bring myself to articulate it until @charlotte.a.moore ‘s post about her mental health and going back to therapy. Since last summer my mental health has completely relapsed and felt impossible to manage. Combined w/ the pandemic and not being able to access much support and I’ve been so gutted to feel like I’ve completely lost my grip on things when I’d only (sort of) got there in the first place after years of hard work. So I guess I’m just posting this to acknowledge that and hopefully normalise it a bit more in my own brain, but also to echo Charlotte’s comments about being kind to yourself and not seeing your symptoms as a personal failing. Self care and soaking up the good is so important but on the days where that’s impossible just getting through is enough.
